Spring 2014

Instructor: Dr. Douglas Hartman

This course greatly improved my technology skills. I had a technology knowledge base but TE 831 provided a great deal of new information and resources. I was able to develop strategies and methods for teaching school subject matter with technology. These strategies included the use of a student response system (clickers) along with creating my own vodcast about symbiotic relationships. The course also helped me enhance lessons by using technology to better engage students. Through exploration and peer discussion, I was able to add tools to my technology toolbox.

This course covered the foundations of the educational system. It was designed to challenge thinking and reflection on important questions dealing with education. In addition, this course covered the history of education and how it has changed. I learned about John Dewey who was a large influence on early education.
