About Me

I graduated in 2005 from Williamston High School and went on to graduate in 2009 from Michigan State University. I majored in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology through the College of Education. I did my student teaching at Dewitt High School and Laingsburg Elementary School, both in physical education. After my year of student teaching I was hired at Caseville Public Schools to teach physical education, health, and science. This fall will mark my 5th year teaching K-8th physical education, high school physical education, 10th grade health and conditioning, 6th and 8th grade science. It just depends on the semester. I am also the assistant athletic director at Caseville, along with the boosters club president. I coached junior varsity basketball for one year and I am currently entering my 4th year of coaching boys varsity basketball. I  also run youth programs and summer basketball camps.

Growing up I loved sports, I was always outside participating in some sort of physical activity. In high school I participated in football, basketball, and track. I continue to play basketball a few times a week and work out almost daily. I developed a passion for teaching and coaching thanks to my outstanding coaches and teachers in high school.  These are my true passions. I love being around kids all day and enjoy the variety in my current teaching position. I enjoy having a basketball program, even if it is in the process of being rebuilt. A lot of times the most fun I have is coaching youth basketball and instructing at camps.

Besides coaching and teaching I love my Spartans. I have season football tickets and enjoy tailgates in the fall. I have been to the last two Final Fours Michigan State has reached in men’s basketball(2009 in Detroit and 2010 in Indianapolis). During my free time I like to watch sports along with some tv shows and movies. I recently developed a passion for reading. Books I have read in the last two years include: Fall Rivers Dream, The Energy Bus, A Coach and a Miracle, Coach K: Beyond Basketball, The Best-Laid Plans of A High School Basketball CEO, Rick Majerus: My Life on a Napkin, Wooden: A Lifetime of Reflections On And Off The Court, Pat Summitt: Sum It Up, Jay Bilas: Toughness, Generation Yi, and Stuff Good Players Should Know.

I also enjoy being outdoors. From hiking and fishing to water sports I love spending time doing outdoor activities.  Recent travels have taken me through the hills of West Virginia and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I love spending time with my girlfriend, family and friends. If you want more information, please contact me.
